Each year, Hospitality Design (HD) magazine honors a handful of designers, architects, and owners, who are young enough to be considered visionary, but tested enough to be considered accomplished, who we call our Wave of the Future. For us editors, it is rewarding and exciting to honor up-and-coming talent, those we think are "making waves" in the industry. Past honorees have included the owners of boutique hotel company Grupo Habita, Andy Masi of the Light Group, Jason Pomeranc of Thompson Hotels, designers Glen Coben, India Mahdavi, Dodd Mitchell, Cass Calder Smith, David Ashen, and the list goes on. This year, we think the list is just as impressive:
Rafael Alvarez and Brannen L. Brock, partners, Alvarez+Brock Design, New York
Terence Ngan, director, AB Concept, Hong Kong
Adam Goldstein, partner/design director, Studio Collective, Los Angeles
Alessandro Munge, partner, Munge Leung, Toronto
The honorees will be profiled in the September issue of HD and will speak on a panel at the 2010 Hospitality Design Boutique Exposition & Conference (HD Boutique), September 14th in Miami.
