Looking ahead to HD Expo next month, I’m excited to be joining two hospitality legends onstage at Mandalay Bay for our keynote conversation on Thursday, May 4th at 12:30 p.m.: Owner and developer Steve Wynn and his top designer, Roger Thomas, executive vice president of design for Wynn Design and Development. Steve, of course, is chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts, who began his career in the ’60s with properties in both Las Vegas and Atlantic City, New Jersey and has been associated over the years with the Golden Nugget, Frontier, the Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Beau Rivage, Wynn Las Vegas, Encore, and Wynn Macau, among others.
Roger’s glittering career took off in the early ’80s when he joined forces with Wynn to create the Mirage, followed by Treasure Island, Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas, and all of the other Wynn properties. Together they’re credited with bringing the highest standards of luxury, beauty, and service to the city—and not just Las Vegas. The new and eye-popping Wynn Palace Cotai in Macau boasts an astonishing $4.2 billion budget.
Expect Steve and Roger to discuss this new property, as well as to divulge some of their future plans, the secrets of success behind their four-decades-long professional relationship, and how they assess the state of the industry.
These incredibly busy men rarely have the opportunity to sit together for a public interview, and we’re honored and delighted that they’ve chosen Expo as their forum. They’re erudite, charming, and, needless to say, at the top of their respective games. Don’t miss it.
