Two top-flight designers, one veteran procurement and sourcing professional, and one prolific owner/operator of hotels and restaurants: This is the quartet of industry stalwarts who will be honored at this year’s Platinum Circle ceremony. Anda Andrei, president of Anda Andrei Design, has a portfolio bursting with landmark projects, first as Ian Schrager’s design maven, and then as head of her own firm. In the issue, we take you on a tour of products inspired by nature, made of mixed materials, with bold colors, and shooting for the stars. But these are hardly the only en vogue movements we’re seeing right now, so here are three more to keep an eye out for.
1. Traditional Plaids
Traditional plaids have never not been classic, but Valley Forge’s Manor Check brings a contemporary feel with its oversized repeat, available in seven different colorways. But textiles and fabrics aren’t the only place to find this eye-catching repeat. THG Paris’ West Coast faucet features inlays within the handles in either black or white onyx to form a calculated pattern. Meanwhile, the funky checkered ceramic cylindrical base of Cappellini’s Valeria mirror makes a statement. Continue reading →
